Facebook Depression

"Facebook" is now a very popular social networking service in all over the world which people can share their pictures and status and used by over 5 million users. However, a new study suggests that social media sites have created a new phenomenon known as "Facebook depression". The American Academy of Pediatrics's study warned parents about the possible dangers of networking websites on their children's mental health. 


Report co-author Gwenn O’Keefe described how teens are changing their way to communicate in the society: "For some teens and tweens, social media is the primary way they interact socially, rather than at the mall or a friend's house. A large part of this generation's social and emotional development is occurring while on the Internet and on cellphones. Parents need to understand these technologies so they can relate to their children's online world, and comfortably parent in that world."


A recent poll stated that 22 per cent of teenagers log on to a social media site more than 10 times a day and more than half at least once a day. Parents are suggested to lookout for cyberbullying, sexting and online predators that can influence their children in inappropriate ways. Also, parents need to be able to talk with their children about bullying, privacy and feeling down because of what’s happening on Facebook. 


There are conflicting opinions whether Facebook helps youngsters, by allowing them to express themselves, or isolates them from society.

Japan

Ok, now what I think of Japan..!

I LOVE Japanese culture and our art is very delicate and fine, and very careful.

Not many of cultures have this kind of art, I don't think:)

This art can be seen in our hand crafts, architectures and traditional foods.

If you go to the tradional restaurant, you will see lots of ways to cut the vegitables, seafoods and things.

I just love the taste, appearance...everything!:)

Yeah so, I am very proud of art in Japan that can be seen everywhere here!

Hawaii

Hi guys:)

Earlier today, I went to the office and got a permission to go to Hawaii for 4 months!!!!

I am sooooo excited for August, it will be one of the best months in my life for sure...

Apparently there are 18 students in this exchange program including me.

I am hoping that we all get along and have an awesome time there!!



I have been to Hawaii when I was like what, 5 years old?(was very young!) :D

But I dont really remember how it was like in Hawaii.

So It will be interesting to look at and learn their cultures I think:)

And YEESSS it will be sooooo nice to sunbake on the beach...


Well, I let you know (in case I sounded like I am going on holidays) that  I am certainly going to study HARD >:D

Hi everyone it's Minami:) It's good to see you guys in English class 7:)

I'm from Sapporo Hokkaido now live in Uegahara:) it's my first time to come to Kansai area and I'm loving it here so much!

My first year at Kwangaku was fun and interesting as I met lots of great friends and teachers.

I used to be in a horse riding club of this uni but I quitted in end of March. I have always loved riding horses since I was little but club was just getting too much for me, so here I am now;)

I lived in Australia for a year when I was in high school and I just LOVE Australia (not only the country itself but also people and natures too) SO MUCH! I even think of moving there!!

Well, I am very interested in going overseas. I am hoping I will get a chance to travel different country this year:)
